Lenovo IdeaPad s10-3t
We have been getting a lot of inquiries lately about Active Ink Software support for touch screen tablets. These tablets tend to be smaller (6 to 10 inches), have a touch screen (versus an active digitizer) and come with a slower CPU (Intel Atom processor). They also are less expensive than your traditional tablet PC with prices starting around $500.00.
One of our customers has been testing out the Lenovo IdeaPad s10-3t and has found that it works fine. You do need to upgrade from Windows 7 Starter Edition to Windows 7 Professional to take advantage of handwriting recognition, purchase a touch screen stylus for writing on the screen and optionally add 1 GB RAM or a SSD drive to improve performance.
While I’m not necessarily recommending touch screen tablets over traditional tablet PCs, they do offer a low cost alternative and can be useful in certain circumstances.
