Have you ever noticed how much paper we still use in our business lives? One of the mysteries of the digital world is the amount of paper that still gets pushed from person to person. I call it the “paper shuffle”. The process involves one or more of the following:
1. Filling out a form.
2. Faxing it to headquarters.
3. Making a copy for your customer.
4. Scanning the paper document as an electronic record.
5. Re-keying the information into a computer database.
Active Ink aims to eliminate the “paper shuffle” by creating the digital equivalent of a paper form and utilizing a Tablet PC as the pen input device. By saving the form as a PC file, it can be stored and retrieved as an electronic record, emailed to others and integrated with other applications. This addresses the five steps of the “paper shuffle”. By eliminating the paper form, the whole workflow process has been streamlined.
